Conquer the Pyramid Full Body Workout

Hey guys! I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Quick weekend recap:

On Saturday, Justin and I went to the farmer’s market. The weather was beautiful and we really enjoyed checking out all the goodies. Fadi’s Mediterranean Grill did a food demo. We learned how to make fresh hummus and baba ganoush. I have yet to make my own hummus but after trying fresh hummus, I am convinced I must give it a try. The fresh ingredients increased my like of hummus from a 5 to a 10. We did not try the baba ganoush because it included yogurt and we make an effort to stay away from dairy but others who tried it were raving. I hadn’t heard of baba ganoush until recently and it is now on my list of recipes to try!

After the farmer’s market, we headed to the mall to look at ski gear for our possible ski trip in a couple of weeks. The mall had a Rainforest Cafe and my love for giraffes makes it hard for me to walk by without getting my picture by the lanky creature. I’m weird, I know.

Last errand of the day was to Wal-Mart to pick out pumpkins. Many of the pumpkins were blemished but Justin worked hard by getting to the bottom of the boxes to ensure that we both got our “perfect” pumpkins. We might or might not have spent over 30 minutes picking them out.

Sunday was spent relaxing and doing things around the apartment.

What did you do this weekend?

Feeling overcome by the Monday blues. Turn that frown upside down by embracing the first day of the work week. Try new things, dream big, act confidently and give your all.

The above photo inspires me to get moving, be creative and focus on my dreams.

Embrace the message:

-Try new things:
*try that new food
*try waking up earlier
-Dream big:
*if you can dream it, you can make it happen
*where there is a will, there is a way
-Act with confidence
*believe in yourself
*focus on your strengths
-Yield your best effort
*give it your all
*you get what you work for

Give today’s workout your all and conquer the pyramid. It’s similar to climbing a mountain. Determination, perseverance, and strength to the top. Satisfaction, accomplishment, and endurance on the way down.

Best of luck!

  • ok mom says add a bit of tahini and lemon juice, and make sure to peel the skin off the eggplant before blending πŸ™‚

    • Sounds delicious! I will definitely be trying the recipe soon. Thank you so much!

  • From what I remember she roasts an eggplant, then puts it in a food processor with salt, pepper, one or two garlic cloves, and pours olive oil in slowly. Delicious with pieces of toasted pita bread

  • I’m middle eastern and grew up on non-yogurt baba ghanouj. If you want my mom’s delicious dairy free recipe, I’d be happy to share

    • I would LOVE it if you shared your mom’s dairy free baba ghanouj recipe. Thanks Helen! πŸ™‚
