Bedtime Yoga Routine

Happy Saturday guys! Hopefully most of you had a great night of sleep and are ready to enjoy the weekend. 🙂

I was recently asked by Casper, an new inventive mattress company, to share my favorite bedtime yoga poses. The Casper mattress is said to hug your body and minimize sinking, making it sound like a great option for sleeping and yoga! If you are in the market for a new mattress and want more information, check out Casper Sleep here

Have you ever done yoga before going to bed? If you find yourself with tight muscles, a racing mind or a bit restless; a quick bedtime yoga routine might be just the ticket to dream land.

Cat-Cow Stretch
Cat-cow stretch combines cat pose with cow pose into a nice fluid motion. Inhale into cow pose and exhale into cat pose to stretch the back, midsection, and neck. This pose is known for relieving stress after a hard day.

Pigeon Pose
Pigeon pose is another great stress relieving posture that releases tension from the hips. Try keeping your hips facing forward as you sink deep into the stretch.

Seated Forward Bend
Tight hamstrings? Seated forward bend will help dissipate tightness while also lengthening the spine and stretching the shoulders. Lengthen your spine as you inhale and pull your chest closer to your legs as you exhale.

Lying Spinal Twist
Open up the spine, chest and shoulders with a lying spinal twist. Reach with the arms as you inhale and deepen your twist as you exhale.

Legs-Up-the-Wall Pose
Get friendly with the wall and reap the benefits. Legs-up-the-wall pose quiets the mind, can relieve backaches, fatigued feet and legs. Try to ensure that your legs are as relaxed as possible by sinking the weight of them into your hips.

Check out the video below for the entire routine.

Sweet dreams!
