Hey guys!!!

I think this is a post that many of you have been waiting for. I apologize that it has taken quite a while to share our mattress details with you guys. In my mind, I was waiting for a FINAL decision. After stressing to Justin about not having a mattress answer, he pointed out that we could simply share our decision on the mattresses that we have tried thus far. Total light bulb moment for me! “Where is the camera?! We have a video to film!!!” 😀

Thus far, Justin and I have tried out the Casper mattress, the Leesa mattress and the Kiss mattress.

Below is a mattress ranking by both Justin and myself.

Mattress Ranking

  1. Leesa
  2. Casper
  3. Kiss

  1. Casper
  2. Leesa

The video below explains why we ranked the mattresses the way we did.

We hope that this post is helpful to you. As mentioned in the video, we recently received an Eve mattress to test out. Keep an eye out for our Eve unboxing video on Monday, March 14th!

Was this information at all helpful to you guys? As always, questions are welcome! We love hearing from you!

  • I have been searching for mattress information for over a year as remodeling the house has delayed my mattress purchase. Using,, and your website, I have narrowed my selection to either the Casper 2017 or the Leesa. I would be interested in knowing why Justin changed from preferring the Leesa to the Casper or did he hear “happy wife, happy life” a lot?

From a reply to this post which notated how many months ago it was posted, I assume that this post must be comparing the pre-2017 design Casper and the Leesa. Please add the original post date to your reviews so we can more readily discern if the information is current. With so many mattresses to evaluate, I know it must take a lot of time and I appreciate it. Thank you for your work.

    • Hello George,

Thanks for your comment! It sounds like you have been working diligently to find the best mattress. Justin has not changed his preference from the Leesa to the Casper, rather he likes the newer version of the Casper that we have better than he likes the first edition. We find the newer version of the Casper mattress to be very similar to the Leesa mattress and are looking forward to going back to the Leesa to get a better idea of where we both stand. 🙂

I can see how knowing the publishing dates of the posts would be helpful to readers and will look into making that happen. For your reference, this post was published March 9, 2016. Thank you for pointing that out. 🙂

  • I am a side sleeper and read multiple reviews advising against both mattresses for side sleepers. Would you mind commenting on that?

    • Hello, Michae! Neither Justin or I sleep heavily on our sides and when we do, it is more of a side/stomach action. That being said, we both sleep comfortably when in that sleeping position.

  • Hello,
Thank you for posting this review. I am trying to decide between a Casper and Leesa mattress. I am 105lbs and 5’3 my partner is 6′ and 172lbs. So our weight ratios are 1.6 and 2.4. Based on all your information I am leaning towards the Casper, because I am worried the Leesa might not be soft enough for me. We also sleep with a 50lb dog. We live in Seattle, so it rarely gets super hot here, so as long as there is not a huge difference coolness isn’t as big a factor for us.

I know you said there was little to no motion transfer for these two mattresses, but I have a slightly different question. Because I am so light, when I sleep on the regular pillow-top mattress we have now I just end up rolling into my boyfriend and the dog’s “holes” like they have a gravitational pull or something. Since you guys have a fairly substantial difference in weight, do you find you have this problem with either of these mattresses? Any advice for us when choosing between the two? Thanks so much for your help!

    • Hello Sarah!

I have experienced rolling into Justin when we slept away from home on a pillow top mattress. Definitely makes it hard to get a good night of sleep… and you have TWO holes pulling you in! I have not felt pulled toward Justin on the Casper or the Leesa mattress. Both mattresses give when you lie on them but not nearly as much as a traditional pillow top mattress. I imagine that the firm bottom layers of both mattresses will provide enough support to keep you from falling into less than desirable holes. I certainly hope this helps!

As for other things to consider when choosing between the two, you mentioned that you are leaning towards the Casper due to your low weight to height ratio. If you appreciate a cloud like feel, I would say that the Casper is a good bet for you since you aren’t likely to get that feel from the Leesa mattress at your weight to height ratio. That being said, although the Casper is my favorite mattress, I do find the Leesa comfortable, it is just a different type of comfortable as the top layer is not as cloud-like as the Casper’s top layer.

As for coolness, the temperature between the two mattresses is very slight. We were able to sleep comfortably on both the Casper and the Leesa in the middle of a hot Texas summer.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

      Good luck!
